Illegal median crossing near Thompson leads to three-vehicle crash, NDHP says

THOMPSON, N.D. (Valley News Live) — Three vehicles were damaged and three people were injured after a driver used a median crossover illegally near Thompson, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. In a post made Sunday, Sept. 6, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said a Toyota Camry slowed to turn around at a median crossover near Interstate 29 mile marker 136. A GMC Acadia struck the Camry, then glanced off and sideswiped a Honda Odyssey, according to the patrol. Seven total occupants were in the three vehicles, and three people were injured, the patrol said. A dog that was also in one of the vehicles was uninjured, according to the patrol. The driver of the Camry was cited for care required, resulting in a $30 fine and two points on the driver's license, the patrol said. The patrol said median crossovers on the interstate are for authorized vehicles only.
