PCB Launches U19 Women's Tournament in Karachi

Pakistan's National Women's U19 Tournament is set to begin in Karachi on August 20, bringing together 75 young cricketers from 24 cities. Organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the tournament will run until September 4. The five participating teams — Conquerors, Challengers, Strikers, Stars and Invincibles — will compete in a double round-robin format. The top two teams will advance to the final, with each side playing eight league matches. The tournament will feature a mix of formats, with the first 10 matches played over 30 overs and the remaining league games shifting to T20 cricket. All league matches will begin at 9:30am at the NBP Sports Complex and HPC Oval Ground. Several players have been selected through nationwide trials, while members of Pakistan's U19 squad that recently faced South Africa will also take part. Fizza Fiaz will captain Challengers, with Samiya Afsar, Ravail Farhan, Komal Khan and Zoofishan Ayyaz leading the other four teams. The competition is intended to strengthen Pakistan's women's cricket pathway ahead of future international events, including the ACC Women's U19 Asia Cup and ICC Women's U19 World Cup.
