Cuban FM: Americans will soon be disoriented

Havana - Saba: Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez mocked US government policies on Tuesday, warning that they will leave its citizens geographically disoriented. In a post on X platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Rodríguez wrote: "Soon they won't know which bay, lake, building, country, continent, or planet they are in." In another post, Rodríguez asserted that the US embargo on the energy and fuel sectors prevents Cuba from importing heavy fuel oil and diesel needed to operate generators within the distributed power generation system, which could minimize power outages. He added that the embargo also prevents the import of solar panels and batteries necessary for establishing new photovoltaic power plants. He added that allowing fuel tankers into Cuba would significantly improve electricity generation, noting that the $100 million—an amount comparable to the humanitarian aid the US government boasts of providing—would only cover the cost of fuel needed to generate electricity in Cuba at limited capacity for two weeks. Rodriguez described the embargo as a 'cold-blooded and calculated design' that inflicts collective punishment on the entire Cuban people, emphasizing that Cuba is not a threat, but the embargo is. This comes as Washington has long sought to overthrow or weaken the Cuban government, while Havana maintains that Trump is attempting to seize the country, its resources, and its assets, and to strangle the island's economy, amid a worsening electricity crisis and fuel shortages.
