Korea Arts & Culture Education Service '2026 Cultural Diversity AI Video Content Contest'
Submissions for the '2026 Cultural Diversity AI Video Content Contest', hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Choi Hwi-young) and organized by the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service (President Lim Jin-taek), will be accepted until the 21st.
Now in its second year, the theme of this year's contest is 'My World Becomes Culture'. It was designed to express each person's unique world, including individual experiences, values, sensitivities, and tastes, through AI video, and to discover content that embodies the value of cultural diversity by understanding and respecting each other's 'my world'.
Eligible works are video content of at least 30 seconds produced using generative AI technology. Entries may be submitted in any format, including film, broadcasting, advertising, web dramas, music videos, vlogs, and animation, and anyone, from creators in Korea and abroad to those interested in content production, may participate.
Applicants must complete the mandatory preliminary course 'Understanding Cultural Diversity for Content Creators' when submitting. The course is intended to help creators understand the core concepts of cultural diversity in advance and naturally reflect them in the planning and production process.
In partnership with EBS, the contest has newly established a Youth Division to cultivate cultural diversity sensitivity among future generations. The idea is to raise such sensitivity by allowing young people, at a time when cultural tastes and values are forming, to experience AI-based creative activities.
Awards will be presented in the General and Youth divisions, with 18 works selected to receive a total prize pool of 30 million won and certificates. The grand prize (one work) in the General Division comes with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and 5 million won; the grand prize (one work) in the Youth Division comes with the EBS President's Award and 3 million won.
Judging will comprehensively evaluate understanding of the theme, content creativity, degree of AI utilization, and completeness of planning. Additional points will be given for teams that include participants from diverse generations or nationalities. The winning entries will be screened and used as promotional materials in connection with future cultural diversity projects.
An official at the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service said, 'We hope this contest will serve as an opportunity to discover the cultural values contained in each person's perspective, beyond technology,' adding, 'In particular, we look forward to encountering the fresh perspectives of future generations through the Youth Division newly established this year.'
