RAJOURI, Sept 7: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal bovine smuggling, Rajouri Police under the overall supervision of SSP Rajouri Sh Naresh Singh, JKPS rescued 33 bovine animals in four separate incidents and registered four cases across Kandi and Nowshera. In the first three incidents Kandi Police Station intercepted three persons during naka checking at Badhal Pulli and Kaller Galla Hubbi who were transporting bovine animals on foot without the requisite permission from the District Magistrate Rajouri. At Badhal Pulli, 08 bovine animals were rescued from the possession of Layaqit Ali S/o Mohd Ameen R/o Behla Tehsil Khawas leading to registration of FIR No. 125/2026 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act. In another incident at Badhal Pulli, 06 bovine animals were rescued from Mohd Altaf S/o Alaf Din R/o Bai Numble Tehsil Kotranka resulting in registration of FIR No. 126/2026 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act. At Kaller Galla Hubbi, Kandi Police rescued another 06 bovine animals from the possession of Manshad Ali S/o Mohd Farooq R/o Soom Tehsil Kalakote in connection with which FIR No. 128/2026 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act was registered. In a separate action Police Station Nowshera during vehicle checking at Thalka Naka intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration No. JK11G-2894 carrying 13 bovine animals. On seeing the police party the driver fled from the spot, abandoning the vehicle and the animals. The bovine animals were found tied in a cruel manner and were being transported without requisite permission from the District Magistrate Rajouri.
