Pembrokeshire car run raises £2,100 for local charity

Car enthusiasts gathered at Pembrokeshire County Showground in Haverfordwest on Sunday, September 6, before setting off on a 45-mile route through the county. The annual event raised £2,106.96 for the Paul Sartori Foundation, which provides free hospice-at-home care and support to adults living with life-limiting illnesses across Pembrokeshire. With the charity spending around £3,600 a day to deliver its services, the money raised is equivalent to more than half of its daily operating costs. Vehicles left the showground in groups of around 30 from 10.30am, drawing spectators along the route before finishing at Dyfed Shire Horse Farm in Eglwyswrw. Over #2,000 was raised for the local charity. (Image: Paul Satori Foundation) Nia Cotton, Communications Officer for the Paul Sartori Foundation, said: "The turnout was incredible, with a marked increase in the number of vehicles getting involved, an amazing array of different vehicles joining the run, and the overall support by the car community for the event and the charity." She added: "It costs the Paul Sartori Foundation around £3,600 per day to offer free hospice-at-home services to families across Pembrokeshire. "This money helps us to give nursing care, loan mobility equipment, and offer complementary therapy and bereavement counselling to those with a life-limiting illness over the age of 18 in our county." The event concluded at Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, which has become a regular stop on the annual run. Organisers also thanked Pembrokeshire County Showground and Dyfed Shire Horse Farm for their continued support. The Paul Sartori Foundation provides hospice-at-home nursing care, equipment loans, complementary therapies and bereavement support to people across Pembrokeshire, with fundraising events helping the charity meet the cost of delivering those services. The event will return next year on September 5, 2027.
