Shahzad blazes 49-ball century as President's Trophy round 3 begins

LAHORE - PTV's M Shahzad smashed a blistering 49-ball century while Markhor IT Solutions' Atiq-ur-Rehman hit an unbeaten 136 as the third round of the Al Batal Presents ABS Developers President's Trophy Grade-I got underway on Thursday. At Diamond Cricket Ground, PTV reached 285-7 in 58 overs after bad light ended play early. Shahzad, who came in at 34-3, hammered 114 off 62 balls, striking 12 fours and eight sixes, and shared a 143-run partnership with M Taha (43). Sharoon Siraj made unbeaten 53. At Imran Khan Stadium, Peshawar, MIT Solutions posted 258-3 in 79 overs against SNGPL. Atiq continued his impressive form after his previous-round 142, scoring 136 not out off 197 balls with 17 fours. He shared an unbeaten 218-run stand with Syed Awad Naqvi, who was 65 not out. Meanwhile, Ghani Glass reached 263-6 against SBP at National Ground, Islamabad, with Mirza Tahir Baig (67), Sharjeel Khan (56) and Ali Razzaq (62*) making half-centuries.
