WELD COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) – Tyler Boebert, the oldest son of U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, will serve at least 20 nights in jail after pleading guilty to child abuse charges. His sentence also includes 12 months of probation. The child abuse charges stem from an incident in January 2024, when Boebert's toddler son wandered out of their house. Boebert, 21, has had previous encounters with law enforcement. Two years ago, he was arrested in Rifle, Colorado, on 22 felony and misdemeanor charges connected to a string of vehicle break-ins. He was also recently charged with allegedly making and sharing video footage showing himself engaging in sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl when he was 18. His mother, who presents Colorado's Eastern Plains and Douglas County, has not commented on the sentencing. All facts in this report were gathered by journalists employed by WesternSlopeNow.com.
