Resurfacing work is set to get underway Sept. 14 along M-50 and M-79 in Charlotte, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced this week. Resurfacing of M-50 (Cochran Avenue) from M-50/Interstate 69 Business Route (BR) north to Beech Highway, and M-79/I-69 Business Loop (Lawrence Street/Lansing Street) from Bostwick Street, west of Cochran, east to Gale Street will include installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant sidewalks, among other upgrades. MDOT said work will get underway at 7 a.m. Sept. 14 and continue until Nov. 9. The project will require single-lane closures with flag operations, MDOT said, adding that motorists should expect delays. Drivers can check the status of MDOT projects on the department's MiDrive map. This article originally appeared on Lansing State Journal: MDOT set to start Charlotte road project.
