The Bruins aren't waiting around to find out what Fraser Minten can become. Boston signed the 22-year-old forward to a seven-year, $50.4 million contract extension on Tuesday, keeping Minten under contract through the 2033-34 season. The deal carries an average annual value of $7.2 million. Minten was set to become a restricted free agent after the 2026-27 season, but the Bruins opted to lock up the young forward after an impressive rookie campaign. Keeping it fresh. He recorded 17 goals, 18 assists and 35 points. His 17 goals tied for fifth on the Bruins, while his 35 points marked the most by a Boston rookie since Danton Heinen's 47 points and Jake DeBrusk's 43 during the 2017-18 season. Minten also established himself as a strong two-way contributor. He ranked fifth on the team with 142 hits and 27 takeaways while leading all NHL rookies in plus-minus (plus-21). His plus-minus also ranked second among Bruins skaters on the 2025-26 roster behind Jonathan Aspirot (plus-30). Minten received NESN's 7th Player Award, which is selected by fan vote and given annually to the Bruin who exceeded expectations. "Since joining our organization, Fraser has continued to grow and earn the accelerated trust of his teammates and coaching staff," Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said. "His hockey sense, competitiveness, responsible two-way game, and offensive growth make him a valuable player for our group." Sweeney added that the extension reflects the organization's confidence in Minten and the role he is expected to play moving forward, while also representing Minten's belief in the Bruins.
