(SavorNation) – The Girl Scouts are hoping to widen their customer base with new cookie offerings for humans and non-humans alike. On Tuesday, the Girl Scouts of the USA announced two new varieties for the upcoming 2027 cookie season: Sparklables, a cookie designed for customers with allergies; and Patch Pals, a treat designed specifically for dogs. They're the newest cookies to join the lineup since the debut of Exploremores in the 2026 season. 'Inspired by Girl Scouts around the country who have advocated for expanding the cookie lineup to meet the diverse needs of their communities, Patch Pals and Girl Scout Sparkables offer new ways for more girls, families and beloved pets to participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program — while staying true to what makes the tradition special,' the organization wrote in a press release issued Tuesday morning. The human-friendly Sparkables, described as 'crunchy oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles,' were created in partnership with Partake Foods, a company specializing in allergen-free consumables. The box advertises the cookies as gluten-free, nut-free and dairy-free, but a representative for the GSUSA said they're also made without other major allergens including eggs, sesame, soy, crustacean shellfish, or fish. The Patch Pals, intended for dogs, were designed in partnership with Bark. They're described as 'soft-baked' and 'blueberry muffin-flavored,' and each features one of four 'patch' designs inspired by those worn by (human) Girl Scouts. Both varieties will officially join the Girl Scout Cookie lineup in January; however, both are also online exclusives, meaning they won't be sold at cookie stands. 'Patch Pals and Girl Scout Sparkables will be available exclusively online for direct shipping beginning January 12, 2027, with the national launch of the 2027 cookie season,' according to the Girl Scouts.
