77 new council homes delivered in Louth in first half of 2026

A total of 77 new local authority homes were delivered in Louth during the first six months of 2026, with 73 completed between April and June, according to the latest housing figures. The figures show a significant increase in new-build delivery during the second quarter of the year, following four homes completed by Louth County Council in the first three months of 2026. The latest figures bring the number of new-build local authority homes delivered in the county to 77 so far this year, compared with 115 throughout the whole of 2025. The figures also show that Louth County Council delivered 26 new-build homes in 2024, 47 in 2023 and 71 in 2022. There was a particularly high level of delivery in 2020, when 218 new local authority homes were completed in Louth, compared with 49 in 2021. The latest figures also record five additional social housing acquisitions by Louth County Council during the second quarter of 2026, bringing the total number of acquisitions recorded in the county to five for the period. All five were recorded under local authority acquisitions, with none listed under the CALF or CAS acquisition categories. The figures distinguish between newly constructed local authority housing and properties acquired by the council through other means.
