BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two 13-year-old boys are in critical condition after the 'e-moto-type vehicle' they were riding together in Bloomfield Hills on Monday was struck by a pickup truck. According to Bloomfield Township police, the two boys were traveling westbound on the safety path along Hickory Grove just before noon when they were struck by a Ford F-250 truck while they were riding through a crosswalk at southbound Telegraph Road. The teens, who police say are both Bloomfield Township residents, were both critically injured and transported to nearby hospitals by the Bloomfield Township Fire Department. Police say the driver of the truck, identified as a 35-year-old Rochester Hills man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, and more information will be released when it becomes available, according to police.
