A balmy Labour Day in North Augusta

NORTH AUGUSTA – The clock may be ticking on summer, but the warm weather of the past two months seemed unwilling to leave as North Augusta celebrated Labour Day with its annual parade on Monday afternoon. Under balmy skies, a variety of floats and walkers made their way across the village's main strip, with themes including fairy magic, Halloween and hillbillies. 'Ma's hav'n her yearly bath' was the inscription on this part of the Tunis Hillbilly Clan #149's contribution to the North Augusta Labour Day Parade on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026. Not counting the Shriners and local firefighters, organizers said, this year's parade included 24 entries. The parade was part of the annual North Augusta Labour Day Festival, which kicked off on Friday evening and included the Old Timers Fastball Tournament, and a car show.
