Benazir Nashonuma Programme Being Launched, Three Facilitation Centers Planned

LODHRAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Sep, 2026) A preliminary meeting on the launch of the Benazir Nashonuma Programme was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf on Wednesday. The meeting was the first formal session held in the district ahead of the launch of the programme, which is being introduced in 12 more districts of South Punjab including Lodhran. The participants discussed measures to strengthen maternal and child nutrition services, improve coordination among government departments and ensure better access to facilities for eligible beneficiaries. The meeting decided to establish two facilitation center at THQ hospitals Dunyapur and Kehror Pakka. Another facilitation center will subsequently be established in Lodhran, for which a DHQ or THQ hospital will be given priority. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf said that the district administration was ready to extend cooperation at every forum and level to ensure better nutrition of mothers and children. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Sargodha, Additional Commissioner Coordination, Director Development and Finance, Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services/Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency/Chief Executive Officer Sargodha Waste Management Company, Managing Director WASA, Executive Engineer Highways, Assistant Commissioner Sargodha, Deputy Director Development, Municipal Corporation's Municipal Officer Regulation and other relevant officers.
