UNION COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Tennessee Department of Transportation said upcoming road work will have an impact on traffic in Union County on Tuesday. A traffic shift will take place on Maynardville Highway from near Williams Road to near Baker Lane beginning at around 9 a.m., TDOT said. Officials said this will allow contractors to complete construction of a box culvert near Raccoon Valley Road. While there will be intermittent temporary stoppages, TDOT said the road will remain open while the work is ongoing. The traffic shift is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, officials said. TDOT said drivers should expect delays and use extreme caution in the area.
