Ryan Gerard overtakes Justin Thomas in Official World Golf Ranking

With no golf over the holiday weekend, the Official World Golf Ranking has been updated for the week of September 8, with only a few minor tweaks as things shake out. Ryan Gerard leapfrogged Justin Thomas in this week's OWGR, with Gerard now in No. 21 while JT falls to No. 22. Also, Michael Brennan moved up from No. 34 to No. 31. Rickie Fowler and Keegan Bradley swapped places near the bottom of the top 50 with Fowler now at No. 47 and Bradley one slot behind him. The OWGR system is calculated by awarding points from eligible tours and events to participating players over a rolling two-year period. Players are ranked weekly based on the amount of points they earn divided by the number of events they played in to reach an average total. Points hold their full value for a 13-week period and are then reduced in equal decrements. The current ranking for the Top 50 golfers in the world appears below.
