SUNY Canton Athletes of the Week Sept. 7

CANTON, N.Y. (WWTI) – SUNY Canton's Athletes of the Week, Sept. 7, 2026, are Junior Outside Hitter Emerson Coulter of the Women's Volleyball team and Sophomore Libero/Defensive Specialist RylanWalker of the Women's Volleyball team. Coulter is a graduate of Kenton Ridge and is majoring in Criminal & Forensic Investigation. Coulter excelled as a two-way player, helping the Roos achieve a 3-1 record last week. She averaged 3.07 points, 2.36 kills, 0.71 aces, and 3.21 digs per set over four matches, with a hitting percentage of .292 (33 kills, 5 errors). Her standout performance included 18 kills at .313 in a comeback win against Fisher. She also recorded four error-free kills at a .667 rate in a match against Paul Smith's. Defensively, she contributed 45 digs, maintaining a .972 reception percentage, with 15 digs each in victories against Curry and Fisher. Walker is a graduate of Hudson Falls and is majoring in Criminal Investigation. Walker had an excellent opening week, averaging 4.92 digs and 1.08 aces per set, contributing to the Roos' 3-1 record. She achieved at least two aces in every match, with a standout performance of 32 digs and six aces against Fisher, marking her among the top records in the Roos D-III era.
