Does a quieter Jerry Jones mean good things for Dallas Cowboys?

Jerry Jones is in front of television cameras as much as any other owner in professional sports. Few news cycles pass without him swooping into the mix with some attention-seeking move. As a result the Dallas Cowboys are an unmovable presence in whatever block of the sports-shouting shows they fit into today. Yet something strange has been happening this offseason, which has been noticed by fans and pundits alike. By his standard, Jones has been out of the limelight as Dak Prescott & Co. look to realize Super Bowl expectations. There was no real August surprise that shifted the spotlight down to Dallas. No free agent or extension sideshow. Really, the main thing coming out of camp and preseason is how much this team believes the can accomplish their biggest goal. Chris Canty has a theory on why this has happened and Jones has remained a supporting character and not the main one. And the theory does make a lot of sense. For once, it may be all about the football for Jones. Or at the very least, there's the possibility it is all about the football this year more than in other years. If the Cowboys can get all their attention through actual winning without the surrounding circus, well, that just makes Jones' job easier. All he has to do is show up and watch the games like most other owners and let the results doing the talking. Personally, I sort of buy the argument.
