ISLAMABAD: Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for a two-day official visit focused on expanding bilateral cooperation.
He was received at the airport by senior Pakistani officials on arrival in the federal capital.
During the visit, Al Busaidi will co-chair a session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The talks are expected to review cooperation across trade, investment, energy, labour, maritime affairs and people-to-people links.
Both sides are also likely to discuss regional and international developments and explore opportunities to deepen economic engagement.
Pakistan and Oman maintain longstanding diplomatic and commercial ties, supported by close geographic proximity and maritime links across the Arabian Sea.
A sizeable Pakistani community also lives and works in Oman, making labour mobility and consular cooperation an important part of the bilateral relationship.
The visit comes amid increased diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Gulf states on trade, investment and regional security issues.
Further bilateral meetings are expected during Al Busaidi's stay in Islamabad.
