AKTU to launchmedical van for adopted villages

AKTU Lucknow: Residents of villages adopted by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will soon have access to healthcare services through a smart mobile medical van which will visit the villages to conduct health check-ups and provide basic medical services. The proposal to introduce the smart mobile medical van was approved at a meeting of the university's finance committee held on Monday under the chairmanship of vice-chancellor Prof JP Pandey. The initiative is part of AKTU's social responsibility efforts to take healthcare facilities to people in its adopted villages. The finance committee also approved a proposal for remuneration for appointing professors of practice as part of the university's efforts to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The move is aimed at bringing professional and industry expertise into the academic environment. In another key decision, the committee approved a Rs 40-crore budget for construction of a dedicated examination building for the university. The committee also gave the go-ahead to increase the budget for the centre of excellence and cyber lab in cyber and forensic investigation technology from Rs 5 crore to Rs 9 crore. Several other proposals were also approved during the meeting. The proposals were presented by finance officer Keshav Singh.
