Removal of illegal house ramps ordered

CM approves own-source revenue projects for Sargodha, DG Khan Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reviewing secuirty arrangements ahead of Muharram. SCREENGRAB Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered the removal of illegal ramps outside houses that obstruct roads and directed authorities to install drain covers made of recycled plastic along roadsides. Presiding over a meeting to review development projects under the own-source revenue model in Sargodha and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions, the chief minister also ordered that the names of cities be displayed on landscaped plots at their entry points. She was informed that eight projects would be undertaken in Sargodha district, six in Khushab and six in Bhakkar. Projects approved for Sargodha city include Dairy Road, Azad Road, Urdu Bazaar Road, Pilot Chowk and Khayyam Chowk Overhead Bridge. Six road construction and rehabilitation projects for Khushab and as many for Bhakkar were also approved. For Rajanpur, six own-source revenue projects were approved but the CM sought additional development projects for the city and adjoining tehsils. The chief minister approved sewerage and drainage schemes for rural areas of Rojhan, Kot Mithan, Jampur and Dajal, ordering their completion on a priority basis. She also ordered the installation of electronic traffic signals on congested roads in Bhakkar and other cities. It was agreed to prohibit the placement of concrete flowerpots along roads. During another meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed members of the Punjab Assembly from Dera Ghazi Khan to monitor ongoing development projects in their constituencies. The political situation, law and order and issues being faced by the people were discussed. According to an official.statement, the legislators said the crime rate in DG Khan was declining. They said improvement in law and order in the katcha area for the first time was a manifestation of good governance in Punjab. CM Maryam Nawaz said the purpose of her recent visit to China was to make Punjab a hub of artificial intelligence (AI). She said advanced methods of treatment and diagnosis of cancer and other diseases on the Chinese model would soon be introduced in Punjab. The chief minister said she was delighted to see people travelling on electric buses in Dera Ghazi Khan. She said road, drainage, water supply and beautification projects were also under way in Dera Ghazi Khan and other cities.
