A new trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero is sparking fan speculation about the film's mysterious new threat. Some fans are convinced that the movie will feature another iconic monster from Toho's Godzilla franchise. Godzilla Minus Zero serves as the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Godzilla Minus One. The movie's new trailer confirms that Godzilla was not destroyed completely in the previous movie and a new kaiju extermination operation has been launched. At one point, the trailer features the roar of another monster, which some fans believe belongs to King Ghidorah. One fan on X, @RussellCJoyner, said, 'Love the sound of King Ghidorah's classic roar!' while another, @500Casino, said, 'ghidorah is about to steal godzilla's movie.' A third fan, @furlan_mai66776, wrote, 'Somehow even more sold than I already was. ALSO GHIDORAH IS HERE.' Additionally, another user, @tmo_melonmaster, expressed excitement for 'King Ghidorah with the OG Showa era roar!!!' King Ghidorah is a giant dragon-like monster or kaiju that first appeared in Toho's 1964 film Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster. For now, it remains unclear whether it truly is Ghidorah, whose roar can be heard in the Godzilla Minus Zero trailer. Needless to say, fans are excited for the potential return of the iconic monster. Godzilla Minus Zero filmed for IMAX ahead of November release Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, Godzilla Minus Zero is the first Japanese production to be filmed for IMAX. The movie picks up two years after the events of Godzilla Minus One and continues the fight against the eponymous kaiju. Minus Zero stars Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Min Tanaka, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Yuki Yamada, Kuranosuke Sasaki, and more. The movie will premiere at the 2026 New York Film Festival on September 26, 2026. It will also serve as the centerpiece of the 39th Tokyo International Film Festival in October. Godzilla Minus Zero arrives in theaters in North America on November 6, 2026, three days after its release in Japan on November 3.
