Most prompt lists are digital clutter. Someone posts '47 ChatGPT prompts that changed my life.' You screenshot it. You save it to Notes. You never open it again. Next week another list arrives. The folder grows. Your results stay the same. That is not a willpower problem. It is a design problem. A prompt is not a spell. It is a brief. ChatGPT does not know your audience, your deadline, your skill level, or what 'good' looks like for you unless you say so. A clever sentence with empty brackets is still empty. A plain sentence with real context is usually enough. OpenAI's own prompting guidance keeps coming back to the same idea: be clear about the goal, give the model the facts it needs, and say how you want the answer shaped.
