It is completed today in Pristina, devoted to the memory of war, sacrifice and freedom, realised with the support of the Capital's Culture Directorate. On the occasion of the completion of the mural, Pristina Deputy Speaker Besiana Musmurat, and Culture Director Isah Mustafa, along with the artist OrangeGirl, who has accomplished the work, visited the space where the wall is already part of the capital's urban landscape and public memory. Murali presents the four former heads of the Kosovo Liberation Army being held in The Hague and builds a visual confession on war, lack, imprisonment and freedom, as part of a story that continues to bear weight in Kosovo's collective memory. This mural 'already becomes part of Pristina's public space and memory. It is a reminder of our path to freedom, sacrifice, and people who were part of that path. Pristina remembers and Pristina awaits the return of rescuers', Musmurati said. The red doors symbolize war, sacrifice, revolt, and emotional tension. The soldiers' silhouettes in the lower part of the portraits represent the warrior's identity and their contribution to freedom. Their position in the country where the tie would usually be a symbol of the transition from the warrior to public and state figures, linking their contribution to the freedom struggle with the subsequent commitment to building the state and independence of Kosovo. The background wire symbolizes restriction, division, and isolation as birds flying over it represent freedom and exit beyond physical barriers. Murali has been implemented by artist OrangeGirl, with the support of the Capital Culture Directorate. Civic platform 'Freedom Has Name' thanks Pristina municipality Deputy Chairman Besiane Musmurati, for engagement, co-operation and continued solidisation with activities organised under the expectation of the decision for rescuers Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi. Pristina remembers. Pristina waits. Kosovo awaits rescuers' return. Photo:
