The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PECTAA) has decided to review textbooks for classes Nursery to Grade 5 to remove errors before printing. The new curriculum, approved by the Punjab chief minister, is scheduled to be introduced in the 2027-28 academic year. According to sources, the curriculum has been sent to education experts to identify and correct errors before the textbooks are sent for printing. Several mistakes were identified during the review process, prompting authorities to send the material for another round of revisions. Meanwhile, publishers have urged PECTAA to provide the revised textbooks as soon as possible to ensure timely printing and distribution. They said the academic year at private schools begins on January 1, and any delay in receiving the books could prevent the new curriculum from reaching the market before March.
