Richarlison set for Saudi Arabia move after Trabzonspor transfer collapsed

Tottenham Hotspur showed great ambition in the summer transfer window, bringing in as many as 10 new players. But that good work in the transfer market is yet to be transformed on the pitch, with Spurs amassing just a solitary point from three games. One player who hasn't featured for Spurs since the opening weekend's defeat at Brentford is Richarlison. The centre-forward seemingly rejected a return to Everton in the final days of the transfer window. This has put the Brazilian international in a difficult position, and he faces the prospect of being on the sidelines for the next four months if he stays at Tottenham. This is because Roberto De Zerbi has not included Richarlison in his 25-man Premier League squad, with the Tottenham boss later stating that the forward said 'No' to a contract extension. Trabzonspor were keen to sign him and saw a couple of bids rejected as they could not meet Tottenham's valuation of the 29-year-old. After links to the Turkish Super Lig have also fallen away after their window closed on September 4th, Richarlison is now attracting interest from elsewhere. According to a report from Football Insider, Richarlison could now look to the Saudi Pro League for a move away from Spurs. Saudi Arabian clubs have until 12 October to finalise their squads, with Spurs likely to accept a cut-price offer for the forward's services as he has no future under De Zerbi. A move to the Middle East is a strong possibility, but only if the North Londoners agree to pay off his contract, with Richarlison now in the final nine months of his current deal. Tottenham have an option to extend his contract by 12 months, but after the attacker said no to an extension, the club officials must now look to come to an agreement over his pay off. The Brazilian cannot afford to sit on the sidelines and spend the next four months at Tottenham. He doesn't feature in De Zerbi's plans, so moving to Saudi Arabia is the best escape route for Richarlison. The former Everton star has to play regularly and perform consistently if he harbours hopes of representing Brazil again. It remains to be seen whether any Saudi Pro League club comes calling for Richarlison's signature in the coming weeks. Additionally, potential moves to Brazil or Portugal have not been ruled out. A return to his homeland in South America remains a viable option, as Spurs explore every available avenue to resolve the Brazilian's future as quickly as possible.
