GRANITE FALLS, N.C. (WHKY) – A Granite Falls man was jailed after being charged with a burning offense. Granite Falls Police arrested 34-year-old Dustin Eli Arney of Cedar Street. He's charged with felony burning an unoccupied commercial structure. Court records stated that Arney allegedly set four trash cans on fire at Granite Community Car Wash on Hickory Boulevard. The incident occurred September 5. Arney was jailed under $50,000 secured bond. A Tuesday (September 8) court date was scheduled. Authorities have not yet released a motive for the fire, and the investigation is ongoing.
