Construction is set to begin Tuesday on a new multi-use pathway connecting Fulton Field Park and Airport Road. The 600-metre paved pathway will run along the west side of Tranquille Road, designed to provide a safer route for pedestrians and cyclists. It will include lighting, trees and hydrangeas matching the landscaping installed as part of the wider Tranquille Gateway Improvements Project. According to the City of Kamloops, site preparation and earthworks will take place throughout September, followed by lighting, irrigation and pathway construction in October. Paving is expected to be completed by the end of October, with the project slated to wrap up in early November. Some finishing work may be required next spring. The city said nearby residents and motorists should expect noise, dust and traffic delays during construction. Traffic impacts will overlap with ongoing work on the Tranquille Road Phase 3 project between Schriener and Southill streets.
