A 30-year-old Alliance man could be looking at some prison time after pleading guilty to a handful of child porn charges.
Nicholas Konopnicki was charged with 15 counts of possession or receipt of child sexual abuse material. Investigators responded to a report of the material and met the suspect at an Alliance residence, where Konopnicki made statements about illegal sexual material involving minors, and gave them permission to search a cell phone.
Court records say that he admitted to visiting illicit sites that feature children and even babies. The arrest affidavit states that Konopnicki told authorities he needs to be locked away for looking at child pornography, adding he has a 'deviant and addictive nature.'
Last month in Box Butte County District Court, he plead no contest to five, Class 2A Felony counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. In exchange for the plea, the remaining ten counts were dismissed.
He will be back in court on October 29th for sentencing.
