(WJET/WFXP)– Police in Chautauqua County have issued a warrant for a Dunkirk man whom they said fatally shot someone in June, advising the public not to approach or try to apprehend him.
Dunkirk police issued a warrant Friday for 24-year-old Tywon Wright, charging him with murder and possession of a weapon in connection with a shooting incident on June 11.
The shooting happened around 10 pm in the 100 block of South Gazelle Street on the city's east side, where they found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound who was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital, where he would succumb to his injuries.
Police are also advising the public not to approach or try to apprehend Wright; rather, they're asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the City of Dunkirk Police Department at 716-366-2266.
