Four-star DB Nate Dollard high on the Hokies after Saturday's game day experience

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Virginia Tech has emerged as a notable contender in the recruitment of four-star cornerback Nate Dollard of Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day. Dollard (6-foot, 175 pounds) visited Blacksburg over the weekend and witnessed the Hokies' lopsided -- understatement -- 73-3 victory over VMI. "Just the energy, it was awesome," Dollard said. "The fans-- it was a sold-out game. I didn't expect it to be sold-out. First game of the season and they were screaming the entire time even though it was a blowout. I really appreciated that. "Coach Franklin, I love what he did with the facilities. I was just there in the spring. I walked into this office this time and everything was completely different. I really liked it. "Also, just how the confident the team played. They got moving quickly and they didn't stop."
