Faisal Karim Kundi called for coordinated action by health officials, district administrations, elders and vaccination teams during the November 2–8 anti-polio campaign targeting children under five. PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Nov, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday expressed serious concern over the detection of the sixth polio case in Khyber district, urging parents to ensure vaccination of their children against the crippling disease. He stressed the need for coordinated and effective measures to eliminate polio and called upon the Health Department, district administrations, polio teams, local elders and parents to fulfil their collective responsibilities. The Governor urged parents to ensure that all children under five years of age received polio drops during the ongoing anti-polio campaign from November 2 to 8 and extend full cooperation to vaccination teams. He said polio was a preventable disease and every case involving a child was a matter of serious concern. The Governor emphasised strengthening routine immunisation, reaching children missed during vaccination campaigns and ensuring effective monitoring by relevant institutions. He said the fight against polio was not the responsibility of any single institution but a collective national commitment, adding that no negligence or lapse could be tolerated in protecting every child from the disease.
