Women urged to uphold Christian values and become role models

By Opesika Tetteh Puplampu Fantevikope, Sept. 07, GNA — The General Overseer of the Holy Healing Church of Jesus, Christian Anim Lawerh, Esq., has urged women of the church to uphold Christian values and conduct themselves in ways worthy of emulation in their families, workplaces, churches and communities. Mr Lawerh made the call at the 2026 National Women's Ministry Convention held at Fatevikope in the Ada East District of the Greater Accra Region. Speaking on the theme: 'Building a Virtuous Life in Women for Christ,' he said women who profess Christ must demonstrate attitudes and values that promoted peace, unity and development in society. He expressed concern about persistent conflicts and disagreements in some families and communities which were undermining peace and urged women to play leading roles in promoting harmony in their homes and among society. The General Overseer also cautioned women against envy and unnecessary rivalry, noting that such attitudes could create tensions within families and negatively affect their emotional and physical well-being. He cited some biblical teachings to back his claims, stressing the importance of cultivating a peaceful heart, saying envy could destroy relationships and undermine personal well-being. Touching on marital relationships, Mr Lawerh cautioned couples against sexual immorality and unfaithfulness, which he said were contributing to the breakdown of several marriages. He urged women to nurture healthy marital relationships and respect the responsibilities and commitments associated with marriage, referencing to Proverbs chapters 5, 6, and 7, which contained warnings about adultery and its consequences. The General Overseer further advised women to avoid reckless speech and gossip, stressing that trust was essential to maintaining healthy relationships. He stated that the responsible use of words was particularly important in public and community life, where careless statements could damage people's reputations and relationships. Prophet Emmanuel Narteh Anim, the founder and leader of the church, expressed appreciation to the women's ministry for its active participation and commended the church's board for successfully organising the convention. He subsequently led the congregation in prayers and blessings, seeking God's protection and guidance for all members in the remaining months of the year.
