Jack Schlossberg is laughing off rumors that friends want to set him up with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The 33-year-old Democrat recently addressed the dating talk in a brief comment. His reply was in response to reports connecting the two politicians. Neither has confirmed any romantic relationship.

Schlossberg spoke to the New York Post on Monday, Sept. 7, about the reports. When asked about Ocasio-Cortez, 36, he said, 'I respect her a lot — she can do way better than me!' The comments came after the New York Daily News reported that his friends wanted them to meet. The report said Schlossberg had felt 'down in the dumps' after losing his Manhattan congressional race in June to Micah Lasher.
According to the Daily News, his friends hoped a meeting could lead to a date or even a job offer. Sources familiar with both Democrats told the New York Post that the pair could get along well. 'Those two would actually get along great together,' one source said. The source added that they believe government 'is a force of good' and said, 'They'd at least be good friends.'
Schlossberg told PEOPLE in June that he was single and 'looking for love.' He said he wanted something serious and was not 'looking for casual anything.' 'I wanna find her. I want to find her, I want to meet her, I wanna fall in love,' he said. He also said he wanted to date, travel, talk and 'find my soulmate.'
His political campaign also put his dating life on hold for a while. Schlossberg said on SiriusXM's 'Andy Cohen Live' on June 9 that his Raya account was 'not deactivated, but paused' during his campaign. Meanwhile, Ocasio-Cortez reportedly split from fiancé Riley Roberts 'some time ago,' according to The New York Times in August. The couple got engaged in 2022 after more than a decade together.
