Odisha Vigilance has arrested Mir Imtiyaz Ali, a Junior Assistant posted at Community Health Centres (CHC) in Fasimal and Govindpur, for allegedly misappropriating ₹1.15 crore through a fake billing scam. According to officials, Ali manipulated arrear salary, leave encashment, and provisional pension bills over six financial years (2021–22 to 2026–27), diverting funds into his personal accounts instead of the state treasury or retired employees. Investigations revealed that Ali siphoned ₹70.57 lakh during his tenure at CHC Fasimal (Jamankira Block) and ₹44.57 lakh while serving at CHC Govindpur (Bamra Block). Two cases have been registered under the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 and Section 316(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Ali will be produced before the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur, as further inquiries into his financial transactions continue. Like this: Like Loading…
