Works are set to begin on a new mini roundabout in Clare's capital town. Approximately eight weeks of road works will take place in Ennis, between the Claureen Roundabout and the Shanaway Road Junction. Starting Monday, November 2, the works will also involve the installation of two controlled and raised pedestrian crossings. The majority of works will be carried out as night works with the remaining works using a temporary traffic management stop/go system. Traffic management plan. © Clare County Council 'Road works will commence on the Lahinch Road between the Claureen Roundabout and the Shanaway Road Junction (outside the Inver filling station), on Monday, November 2, 2026, for a period of up to eight weeks,' Clare County Council shared. 'Works will include the installation of a new mini roundabout at the Shanaway Road junction to the Lahinch Road and the construction of two new controlled pedestrian crossings and associated electrical and civil works. 'Works will be undertaken largely outside of peak time hours (night works) and temporary traffic management will be in place at all times, with a stop-go system in place.' Temporary traffic management plans have been shared to aid drivers via the council's website.
