'It was like a Disney movie': Lo Celso opens up on PSG spell with Neymar and Mbappe

Giovani Lo Celso has opened up about his memorable spell at Paris Saint-Germain , recalling what it was like to train alongside Neymar and a young Kylian Mbappe . The Argentine midfielder joined PSG from Rosario Central at just 20 years old and immediately found himself surrounded by some of the biggest names in world football. Eight years after leaving Paris, Lo Celso still has vivid memories of his time at the club and described the experience as unlike anything he had previously known. 'It's the strongest team I've ever played for. Training was crazy. It was like a Disney movie. I was 20 years old, I'd just arrived from Rosario Central, and I was like a kid with a new toy,' Lo Celso told L'Équipe. The Betis midfielder also revealed that PSG had a stronger family atmosphere than outsiders might imagine. 'PSG is much more of a family than it seems.' Among the stars Lo Celso encountered in Paris, Neymar left the strongest impression. The Brazilian's technical ability stood out even among a squad packed with elite talent, with Lo Celso struggling to compare what he saw in training to ordinary football. 'I felt like he wasn't playing the same sport. Technically, he was truly superior. In training as well as in matches, he dribbled past anyone, whenever and however he wanted.' Lo Celso also witnessed the emergence of Mbappe, who was still very young when the Argentine was at PSG. 'He was very young, but you could already see he was special. He was very fast and unbalanced, shot with both feet with incredible speed and power, and always made the difference.' Lo Celso's time in Paris eventually came to an end following the arrival of Thomas Tuchel. Having been a regular starter under Unai Emery, the midfielder found himself outside the German coach's plans. Lo Celso explained that Tuchel 'didn't have the same plans' for him, bringing an end to his PSG adventure. Despite his departure, the Argentine retains a strong connection with the club. He remains in contact with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi as well as several people from his time in Paris. Lo Celso continues to follow PSG and has been impressed by the club's recent success under Luis Enrique. The Betis midfielder believes the Spanish coach has played a major role in transforming PSG into a more balanced and united side. 'With him, they found their balance.
