The three-day event features the 21+ garden area with a dedicated live music stage, covered seating, yard games, and a full bar ($10 cover or reserved seating options), alongside a second acoustic stage (the Love Local Stage). Festival goers can also explore the Makers Mercado, a Food Fair, and a Mini Carnival with rides and games. Lectures on Tap -> Lectures on Tap pops up at a secret location in Hollywood this Monday to offer Gaynimals: Pansexual Primates, Queer Dolphins, and More! , a humor-infused science lecture exploring homosexuality, bisexual behavior, and queer pair-bonding across the animal kingdom. Held at a local neighborhood bar in Hollywood (exact venue address provided to ticket holders upon RSVP), the talk is hosted by biological anthropologist, comedian, and science communicator Natalia Reagan. Attendees can grab food and drinks before the presentation and stay for an open audience Q&A and networking. Seating is unreserved and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Star Trek 60th Anniversary Celebration – FA TP > Street Food Cinema comes to the Autry Museum of the American West this Tuesday to host a free 60th-anniversary celebration of Star Trek , presented in partnership with CBS Studios and Paramount+. The outdoor screening event features the original 1966 series pilot episode, 'The Man Trap,' alongside an episode from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The evening includes photo opportunities, promotional giveaways, food trucks, and full bar concessions. Guests are welcome to bring low lawn chairs and leashed dogs. Los Angeles Ballet at the Bowl -> On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Los Angeles Ballet present 'Los Angeles Ballet at the Bowl' at the Hollywood Bowl, marking the ballet company's historical debut at the iconic venue. Conducted by Carlos Miguel Prieto with choreography by LAB Artistic Director Melissa Barak, the evening features a world premiere set to Gabriela Ortiz's Kauyumari, as well as George Balanchine's jazz-infused ballet Who Cares? performed to classic George Gershwin compositions. The orchestra also performs rustic symphonic works celebrating the landscapes of Mexico and the American West, including Silvestre Revueltas's Janitzio, Aaron Copland's Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo, and José Pablo Moncayo's Huapango. Shark Lagoon Twilight Tuesdays – FA > Shark Lagoon Twilight Tuesdays come to the Aquarium of the Pacific this Tuesday, offering free after-hours access exclusively to its outdoor Shark Lagoon exhibit. Visitors can get up close with marine life and touch gentle species like bamboo sharks, as well as observe rays and large sharks. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase on site. Admission is free for all ages, though advance reservations are required due to high demand. Antigone: In the Language of Kings – > Outdoor Classical Theater is back at the Getty Villa beginning this Thursday with a production of The Latino Theater Company's Antigone: In the Language of Kings . Adapted from Sophocles by Evelina Fernández and directed by José Luis Valenzuela, this powerful reimagining sets the tragedy in the pre-conquest world of Tenochtitlan, incorporating pre-Hispanic music, poetry, and Aztec mythology. Performed in English, Spanish, and Nahuatl with supertitles. Tickets range from $30 to $60, with optional prix fixe dining packages available. Let's Groove: Salsa – M FA > This Thursday, Ovation Hollywood hosts a high-energy community salsa night held in the central outdoor courtyard. The evening begins with a 45-minute guided beginner salsa lesson led by a guest instructor, followed by two hours of live music from 10-piece salsa group Sangre Nueva featuring full brass, percussion, and vocals. Attendees can also enjoy custom hand-airbrushed fans and a complimentary souvenir photo booth. Admission is free with an advance RSVP requested, and no prior dance experience or partner is required. Mexican Independence Day celebration at Benny Boy -> This Friday, Benny Boy Brewing hosts its fourth annual Mexican Independence Day celebration, bringing live music, local vendors, and craft beer specials to Lincoln Heights. The late-night event features a performance by tribute band Maiden Mexico, food trucks, and a mechanical bull on site. Valet parking is available for guests. Photo by Stan Lee. The Brothers Sushi Expands to Beverly Hills Twenty-eight years ago, The Brothers Sushi opened as a neighborhood spot in Woodland Hills. In 2018, Mark Okuda and Steve Vartazarian took over and reimagined it entirely, building a reputation around aged fish, chef-driven menus, and a California approach to Japanese dining. Beverly Hills is their fourth location and it feels like a milestone. The new location marks a new chapter for the brand, with Moriyuki 'Mori' Kanamaru stepping up as Executive Chef and partner. Mori has been in the Los Angeles sushi world for nearly two decades, with stints at Jinpachi and Michelin-starred Asanebo before joining The Brothers Sushi four years ago. His omakase at the Santa Monica counter became a fan favorite fast. Beverly Hills gives him an intimate 14-seat counter and room to evolve it. The hallmark of The Brothers Sushi has always been fish aged in-house to deepen flavor and transform texture. Beverly Hills leans into that with a dedicated dry-aged fish selection alongside sushi, sashimi, and composed hot and cold dishes. The menu spans dry-aged bluefin tuna, toro, chutoro, king salmon, hamachi, kanpachi, and seasonal fish from Japan and beyond. A few dishes are exclusive to this location and worth noting: an A5 Wagyu Teriyaki Slider, a Wagyu Sando, and Smoked Chutoro Sashimi prepared with warayaki. Other highlights include a Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Cake, Seabass with miso on a lettuce wrap, and sashimi carpaccios like Seared Toro with Ice Plant and an aromatic Kanpachi Smoke. Sake, wine, and beer round it out. The Brothers Sushi has come a long way from Woodland Hills. Beverly Hills looks like the right next chapter.
