Panchkula: The next food or parcel delivery at your doorstep could be from a rider whose credentials have been verified by the police. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now To strengthen security and keep track of suspicious activity, Panchkula police has launched a district-wide verification drive for delivery agents working with food delivery, e-commerce and courier companies.Police teams will collect and verify details of riders, including their identity, addresses and background records.DCP Aditi Singh said information such as the rider's name, mobile number, permanent and present address, identity documents and employer details would be checked. Delivery companies will also be asked to maintain updated records of their workforce and ensure periodic verification.Police commissioner Pankaj Nain said the data of delivery personnel working with various online platforms and delivery agencies in the district has already been collected. Verification of riders, including checks of identity, address and criminal records, has now begun.He said the move is aimed at strengthening the city's security network and improving police access to verified information, and is not targeted at any individual or group.
