Neither Stafford was able to watch the video debut live, since Matthew was still playing against Denver at the time and Kelly was in attendance with the couple's four daughters, though the couple is expected to have seen it shortly afterward. The cameo builds on the Staffords' established friendship with Swift, Matthew and Kelly attended Swift's wedding to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce this past July, with Kelly writing on Instagram afterward that the night was "a night that reminded us all just how lucky we are to have found our person." The Stafford family's connection to Swift runs deeper still, their daughters are devoted fans, having attended her Eras Tour and the Toy Story 5 premiere where Swift made a surprise performance. Eagle-eyed fans also connected Stafford's cameo to an earlier Emmys cryptic clue, in which Swift, appearing in a prerecorded sketch, referenced "Aries", a nod some decoded as pointing toward the Rams, given the zodiac symbol's association with a ram.
