Jessie J has declared that she is taking a social media break. She revealed that she needs time to heal during her cancer journey and prepare for an upcoming surgery. The singer has had a busy two years filled with major life events. The 38-year-old cancer survivor has gone through a breakup and released an album. She has done all this while raising her young son over the past 24 months. Jessie J took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt post saying that she is ready for "a digital cleanse" to "speed up the healing process." She wrote, "I want to start this post off by saying I am ok. I am not at my best but very far from my worst. I know people can twist these kinds of posts." She added, "To name a few things that have happened in the last 2 years… 1. Put out an album for the first time in 8 years 2. Moved country (USA to UK) 3. Being diagnosed and beating breast cancer 4. Touring the world 5. Going through a breakup 6. Raising a toddler 7. Doing my own socials, styling, hair + makeup everyday." Citing the heavy workload, the singer said she needs time to "finally have my second cancer reconstruction surgery, to recharge, heal, to rest, to process, to love on myself and my boy, to water the next chapter of my life and most importantly be present and really live." "Might pop on every now and again for work commitments (which sometimes will be my team) but other than that. See you when feels right. Love you all," she concluded. The "Bang Bang" singer had previously revealed that she decided to make her cancer diagnosis public in order to help her process the illness.
