Hurricane Lowell battles Hawaii's western islands

Extreme Heat Warning from TUE 10:00 AM MST until THU 8:00 PM MST, North Phoenix/Glendale, Scottsdale/Paradise Valley, Tonopah Desert, Gila River Valley, Northwest Valley, South Mountain/Ahwatukee, Yuma County, East Valley, Gila Bend, Deer Valley, Fountain Hills/East Mesa, Sonoran Desert Natl Monument, Kofa, Cave Creek/New River, Buckeye/Avondale, Southeast Valley/Queen Creek, Southeast Yuma County, Central Phoenix Parts of Hawaii are facing severe weather as Hurricane Lowell moved past the islands. Video from the area show flooded roads and damage from flooding. Forecasters, however, say the worst of the storm should begin to ease. Posted September 8, 2026 9:30am MST
