日本人の大腸がん患者の半数程度に、大腸菌が出す毒素による遺伝子の変異が生じていたとの研究成果を、大阪大と東京大のチームが８月１０日付の英科学誌に発表した。毒素が細胞の増殖に関わる遺伝子を傷つけ、がんを引き起こす。
