At least eight people suffered burn injuries when the petrol tank of a motorcycle exploded near a famous pan shop in DHA, prompting police to register a case against the unidentified rider and launching efforts to trace him through CCTV footage. According to the FIR registered at Defence B police station, the incident occurred at around 12:15pm in DHA Phase-I Market. The petrol tank of the motorcycle exploded, causing flames to engulf nearby pedestrians. Eight people suffered burn injuries to their faces, arms and other parts of bodies. The injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital. They included Amir, Asad, Hamza, Danish and Imtiaz. The condition of the injured was stated to be out of danger. The FIR, lodged on the complaint of ASI Tariq Mahmood, stated that the unidentified motorcycle rider had fled after the incident. The police registered the case under sections 279, 290, 291 and 436 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Defence B police reached the scene after receiving information about the incident and collected evidence. The police said CCTV cameras installed in the area and other sources were being used to identify and trace the motorcyclist.
