First thing that called my attention to this Sons of Eternity 'Human Beast' was the similarity between vocalist Matthias Schenk and Scorpions' Klaus Meine. Ok, it is not always, but more notably on the choruses and some tracks as album opener 'Sons of Eternity.' Interestingly, this opening track has the same name of the band, which is also a kind of tradtition of Metal music. It is very common to bands have a track that honors the band name. Iron Maiden 'Iron Maiden,' Black Sabbath 'Black Sabbath,' among many others. Things get even more interesting when I realized the songs have nothing to do with Scorpions sonancy. On the other hand, there are tracks whose chorus is so gluey that I could not help it to take it out from my mind. 'Resistance,' with its Queensrÿche inspiration, was one of them.
'Human Beast' is clearly Old School Heavy Metal inspired with some here and there touches of Power Metal. Some tracks, on the other hand, follow some kind of epic influence as 'When Fantasy Dies' as the tittle suggests. In general the songs are pretty varied when it comes to pace, rhythm, speed, and inspiration. This particular track is a bit slower than the others with another sticking chorus that makes the fan singalong without even noticing – between you and me, don't we love that? I do.
It is interesting how Sons of Eternity's open musical philosophy allows them to give a walk through many Old School Heavy Metal sonancies to make the album even more relevant. As aforementioned, tittle track 'Human Beast' adds some Power Metal speed and fury to give to the song tittle the identity it calls as its tittle and music reflect totally the feelings it is all about.
To some extent, after hearing 'Human Beast' many times – I usually do that when I like an album very much -, I think the album relies a lot on Queensrÿche inspirations. I mean, I felt it like it was a concept album where each track follows and tells a story. Of course, there are some alleatory songs as 'Abyss Of Life' that are so far from what I said before and fit no one of my theories.
'Human Beast' is a very compleling album to listen to at moment of the day. But beware, the music in here is very addictive.

I'm just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don't accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it's a life changing oportunity!
