AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Girl Scout cookie season is getting two big firsts in 2027: a treat for dogs and an allergy-friendly cookie for people. Girl Scouts of the USA has announced Patch Pals, its first-ever cookie made for dogs, and Girl Scout Sparkables, its first allergy-friendly cookie. Both will debut nationwide during the 2027 Girl Scout Cookie season and will be sold exclusively online for shipping only. Patch Pals is being developed with BARK, the dog-focused company behind BarkBox. The soft-baked, blueberry muffin–flavored dog cookies are inspired by Girl Scouts' love for their pets and feature one of four 'patch' designs baked into each treat, highlighting classic Girl Scout experiences. Girl Scout Sparkables, created with allergy-friendly brand Partake, is designed for families managing common food allergies. Baked in a facility set up to avoid the nine major food allergens, the crunchy oatmeal cookie includes chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles, giving more kids a way to feel included when cookie boxes come out. Nationally, Girl Scout Cookie season runs January through April, though dates vary by council. For Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, the 2027 season runs Dec. 14, 2026, through March 7, 2027. Patch Pals and Girl Scout Sparkables will be available online for direct shipping beginning Jan. 12, when the national season officially launches.
