MIAMI GARDENS — As Chukwuebuka "Chu" Godrick settled into his first few weeks with the Miami Dolphins, the young offensive tackle was adjusting to a new team, a new city and a new life thousands of miles from his family in Nigeria.
Godrick, who was recruited through the NFL International Player Pathway program, was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins in August, after spending three years with the Kansas City Chiefs.
In a post-practice interview last week, Godrick talked about adapting to South Florida and the heat, how his family has reacted to his opportunity with the Dolphins, and what it means to him to represent Miami. He also shared some of the lessons he's learned since joining the team and the biggest adjustments he's had to make.
In a word: Speed.
