국방부가 미국이 요구해 온 '호르무즈 파병 방안' 결정을 앞두고 현지 상황 파악을 위해 아랍에미리트로 현지조사단을 파견했습니다.
이들은 우리 군 자산과 병력이 현지에서 활용할 수 있는 작전기지와 기항지 등을 확인하고, 정비·보급 등 지원 여건과 환경을 점검 중인 것으로 전해졌습니다.
조사단은 이르면 이번 주 중에 귀국할 것으로 알려졌는데, 조사 결과는 국가안전보장회의 실무조정회의에 보고될 예정입니다.
