Hot, humid weather to persist across country on Tuesday

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly hot and humid weather for most parts of the country on Tuesday, with chances for northern areas to experience partly cloudy conditions during the afternoon. According to the weather forecast, Islamabad and adjoining areas are likely to remain hot and humid. Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also expected to experience hot and humid weather, with partly cloudy conditions likely in Swat, Kohistan, Battagram and Shangla during the afternoon. In Punjab, hot and humid weather is expected in most districts, while similar conditions are likely to prevail across most parts of Sindh and Balochistan. The coastal areas of both provinces may remain partly cloudy. Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to experience mainly dry weather, with partly cloudy conditions expected during the afternoon. During the past 24 hours, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in northeast Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Dir and Larkana. Sibi receives the highest rainfall of 31 millimetres, followed by Barkhan with 23mm. In Gilgit-Baltistan, Skardu and Gupis receive 3mm each, while Babusar records 2mm. Dir and Larkana receive 1mm each. Turbat and Dalbandin record the highest maximum temperature of 42C, while Nokkundi and Bahawalnagar record 41C. The minimum and maximum temperatures recorded in major cities are: Islamabad 22/35C, Lahore 28/38C, Karachi 27/34C, Peshawar 26/37C, Quetta 21/35C, Gilgit 21/35C, Muzaffarabad 22/37C, Skardu 12/29C, Murree 16/24C, Faisalabad 28/38C and Multan 25/39C.
